The Reddy Heater R150 is a reliable and efficient forced-air heater designed for both residential and light commercial applications. This heater is known for its durability and ability to provide quick and even heating.
The Reddy Heater R150 operates by drawing in ambient air from its surroundings, passing it through a heat exchanger where it is heated by the combustion process. The heated air is then forced through a series of ducts and vents to distribute warmth throughout the space, making it an excellent choice for larger areas or spaces with high ceilings.
The heater's design includes a number of safety features, such as a built-in oxygen depletion sensor, which shuts off the heater if the oxygen levels in the room drop too low. It also comes equipped with a thermostat, allowing users to easily control the temperature and maintain a consistent comfort level in their space.
When it comes to repairs, the Reddy Heater R150 offers easy access to key components for maintenance and troubleshooting. The heater's front access panel can be easily removed, providing clear access to the burner assembly, igniter, and other important components. Additionally, the heater comes with a comprehensive user manual and is backed by a team of knowledgeable customer support representatives who can assist with any repair questions or concerns.
The Reddy Heater R150 is also energy-efficient, with a high AFUE rating (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency), which means that it converts a large percentage of the fuel it consumes into heat, rather than wasting it as exhaust. This not only helps to reduce energy costs but also makes the heater a more eco-friendly choice for those looking to minimize their carbon footprint.
Overall, the Reddy Heater R150 is a high-performing, reliable, and efficient forced-air heater that is well-suited for larger spaces or commercial applications. Its easy-to-access components and comprehensive user manual make it a breeze to repair, while its energy efficiency and safety features make it a smart choice for those looking to save money and ensure their space stays warm and comfortable all year round.
The Reddy Heater R150 is a 150,000 BTU forced-air heater, which can be an effective solution for heating large spaces, such as garages, workshops, or commercial buildings. Here are some pros and cons to consider before making a purchase:
Pros:1. High Heat Output: With a heating capacity of 150,000 BTUs, the Reddy Heater R150 can quickly heat large spaces, making it an ideal choice for industrial or commercial applications.
2. Forced-Air Heating System: The forced-air heating system distributes warm air evenly throughout the room, ensuring that all areas are heated effectively.
3. Durable Construction: The Reddy Heater R150 is built with heavy-duty materials, including a powder-coated steel cabinet, making it a reliable and long-lasting heating solution.
4. Versatile Fuels: The heater can run on natural gas, propane, or diesel fuel, providing flexibility in fuel choices.
5. Easy Installation: The unit comes with a standard 5-inch chimney connector and can be installed with minimal modifications to existing venting systems.
Cons:1. High Energy Consumption: Due to its high heating capacity, the Reddy Heater R150 consumes a significant amount of energy, leading to higher operating costs.
2. Large Size: The heater is quite large and heavy, requiring sufficient space for installation and transportation.
3. Complex Installation: While the installation process is not overly complicated, it does require a certain level of expertise and experience to ensure proper venting and safe operation.
4. Noisy Operation: The forced-air heating system can generate a fair amount of noise during operation, which may be a concern for some users.
5. Maintenance Requirements: Like all heating systems, the Reddy Heater R150 requires regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
In conclusion, the Reddy Heater R150 offers a high heating capacity, versatile fuel options, and even heat distribution, making it an attractive choice for large spaces. However, its high energy consumption, large size, and complex installation process are potential drawbacks to consider. Ultimately, the decision to purchase the Reddy Heater R150 depends on the specific heating needs and budget of the user. If the high heat output and even heating distribution are essential requirements, the heater may be a worthwhile investment. Otherwise, users may want to consider alternative heating solutions with lower energy consumption and simpler installation processes.
I dialed in the pump pressure which is 5 psi. I have no test equipment to verify either and decided that don't want spend any more time or money on it. The issue was a defective photocell which I replaced and also the filters installed new air pump guts. This is an older unit that I used in my construction business.
Even with old fuel, the unit fired right up but would not stay running. I disassembled the air pump and lubed new parts with graphite. I sold out but kept this Heater for an emergency. The pump is made from carbon and typically lasts for the life of Heater.
I tried it today and fired right up but shut down after about 30 minutes. After a brief cool-down I tried it again and the same thing happened. Wouldn't light. After several years I decided that it was very unlikely such an emergency would never arise.
My best guess is that it needs a relay switch P/N 097061-01 or the safety control HA 3002. It was thoroughly cleaned and I repainted the shell it then functioned perfectly.
